Flax Crackers Here is my first attempt at a video cooking class. In it you will learn how to make flax crackers. Even though I make them using a dehydrator, there are instruction on how to make them with an oven. Flax seeds show up as very important for many people that I test in the office and are a good source of Omega-3 oils as well as other nutrients.
2 cups flax seeds partially ground.
soak in 2 cups water with 1/4 cup of tamari soy sauce
add 1 Tbs herbs like rosemary, ginger, garlic or lemon juice
soak at least 1.5 hours or overnight.
spread thinly on leather sheets of a dehydator on 115 degrees for 4-6 hours, then turn over for another 3-5 hours, or can leave over night.
If using an oven, put on lowest setting, mine goes down to 170 degrees, and spread flax thin on either parchment paper or tin foil sprayed with olive oil and cook for 2 hours then flip over and cook another 5-8 hours until crunchy.
