Fermented or Cultured Vegetable Video

click here for video: Cultured or Fermented Vegetable Video I'm really excited to be able to share with you a 10 minute video that I made that can really change your life. I have found, and research is now proving, that the balance of the beneficial bacteria in your intestines has a profound effect on your overall health, including your immune and digestive system as well as your weight.   I used to sell lots of high quality beneficial flora products, but lately have found that people can usually do just as well by eating fermented foods on a regular basis. One of the best fermented foods, that has very low allergenic probability, is fermented or cultured vegetables. Just a few tablespoons a day is good for most people,...

Acupuncture for the New Age

Acupuncture is all about getting the qi or life force energy to flow smoothly through the meridians and organs. Inserting acupuncture needles can be very effective at regaining this flow, but in order to make sure the flow is sustained we must work at the root causes of the qi blockages. Sometimes the energy is off due to a wrong diet and I work with discovering if there are food allergies or sensitivities that keep blocking the system and and what is the right diet for the individual. If there are organisms such as yeast, viruses, bacteria and parasites, these should be removed or else progress will be temporary. Emotions and painful memories can get stuck in the unconscious which effect the meridians and organs and should...

Mill Valley Kitchen

Mill Valley Kitchen I am happy that I have found a local restaurant that is healthy and a good deal. It is Mill Valley Kitchen in Saint Loiuis Park on Excelsior Blvd, not far from Whole Foods. The good news is they don't use canola oil. There are good choices for vegetarians, and those on a gluten free diet, or those who want clean meats. I had a salad with black beans and a side of roasted vegetables and a side of kale, and my wife had a grass fed beef burger. They have bison burgers as well. I saw venison on the dinner menu. The desserts have sugar, but are homeopathic in size. They are served in a shot glass, so if you want to splurge you can...

Keystone Habits

New Year’s is traditionally a time to try to break old habits and encourage new ones. We all know that there are positive and negative habits. But did you know that there are a few “keystone” habits that once adopted tend to produce a landslide of other positive changes.   Studies over the last decade show the impact of fitness on people’s daily routines and they have found even exercising infrequently as once a week, start other unrelated patterns in their lives, often unknowingly. People who exercise start eating better adn become more productive at work. They smoke less and show more patience with colleagues and family. They use their credit cards less frequently and feel less stressed. it is not clear why taking time for fitness...

Meditation Reduces Inflammation

Study Shows That Mindfulness Meditation Reduces Inflammation   Inflammation is an underlying issue in many health conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease and asthma. I have found that psychological stress plays a role in many such conditions. It has been found in a recent study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, that mindfulness meditation techniques can benefit inflammation.   Mindfulness-based stress reduction consists of continuously focusing the attention on the breath, bodily sensations and mental content while seated, walking or practicing yoga. Although there has been interest in the stress reduction ability of meditation for some time, this was the first experiment to compare it to other stress reducing practices that don’t use mindfulness. In the other program there was nutritional education, physical activity and music therapy.   They used...

Fracking our Food

I knew that fracking was terrible for the environment. I felt that no child would be safe for 3 generations if raised in an area that had fracking. This article describes why:   In a Brooklyn winery on a sultry July evening, an elegant crowd sips rosé and nibbles trout plucked from the gin-clear streams of upstate New York. The diners are here, with their checkbooks, to support a group called Chefs for the Marcellus, which works to protect the foodshed upon which hundreds of regional farm-to-fork restaurants depend. The foodshed is coincident with the Marcellus Shale, a geologic formation that arcs northeast from West Virginia through Pennsylvania and into New York State. As everyone invited here knows, the region is both agriculturally and energy rich, with...

American Eat Their Weight in GMO’s a Year (30 more GM foods in the pipeline)

(NaturalNews) The consumer advocacy organization Environmental Working Group (EWG) has put out a new paper that estimates the average person's yearly consumption of genetically-modified organisms (GMOs). And based on the figures, which EWG admits are very likely understated, the average person consumes more than their own body weight's worth of GMOs every single year, a shocking reality with unknown, long-term health consequences.   For their study, EWG researchers compiled data from 2011 U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) data sheets on average per capita consumption of various GM foods, including corn-based sweeteners like corn syrup, salad oils, and various other "corn products" like corn oil and corn meal. They then analyzed these figures based on the percentages of each of the crops used to make these products that...
